Golf is played almost every weekend at the Goldfields Golf Club. There are no fixtures on some selected Public Holidays. The fixtures vary through the year. Singles formats played include; Stroke, Stableford, Par & Match Play.
Team formats, including 2 Ball and 4 Ball events include; Ambrose, Multiple, Aggregate & Better Ball Stableford or Par, Canadian & American Foursomes, straight Foursomes and Scrambles.

The Kalgoorlie Golf Course has 5 tee boxes, Black – Championship Tees, Blue – Members Tees, White – Public Tees, Red – Ladies Tees and Yellow – Junior/Sub-Junior Tees. Generally Saturdays are played on the Blue Tees and Sunday can vary between the Blue & White Tees. Some events are played over a composite course – various tee boxes (usually non handicapped formats, such as 2-Person Ambrose) and some events alternate between two different coloured tees.
Over the hotter months (November to March), The Summer Cup is played on Saturdays and is a medley event open to Men, Women and selected Junior Members. Sundays provide the opportunity to play team events and singles events on tees other than the Blue tees.

Scroungers (Thursdays)

18 Holes of Stableford played weekly, alternating week to week on the Blue and White Tees. Scroungers is open to all male players with a current, Golf Australia-recognized handicap. Presentations are held at approximately 6pm after the event. Scroungers is held throughout the year.

Mens Championship

Generally played during August, over 54 holes. Club Champions are recognized in A, B and C Grades. Nett winners in each division are also recognized. The Club Champion is the A Grade Gross Champion.

Monthly Medal

A stroke average competition played on the Black Tees, played monthly April to October. A player’s best 4 rounds out of a possible 7 rounds are selected to calculate their stroke average. A gold medal (The Goldfields Golf Club Gold Medal) is awarded to the Gross Winner and a Silver Medal (The Goldfields Golf Club Silver Medal) is awarded to the Nett Winner.

Men’s Foursomes Championship

Played over 36 holes and generally in October, both Gross & Nett champions are recognized.

Match Play Championship

Two stroke rounds are played early in March as Match Play Qualification Rounds, the top 8 Gross and top 8 Nett qualifiers out of each round progress to the round of 16. The knock-out competition is played over the course of the year, to determine the Match Play Champions, both Gross & Nett.

Junior Championship

Played in conjunction with the Men’s Club Championships, on the Blue Tees, generally over 54 holes. Players turning 18 the year of the Championships are eligible to play. The Junior Champion can be either a boy or a girl, separate awards are not presented.
