2020 11 news ladies open

The 2020 Ian Slater and Quest Yelverton Apartments Goldfields Ladies Open was held on the weekend of 6th, 7th and 8th of November.

One hundred and seventy two ladies travelled from all over WA to compete in the event. Despite the rainy conditions during the “Pink” 4BBB event, the tournament went off without a hitch. Congratulations to Joanne Kirby from Mandurah who won the event with a combined total of 83 points. Joanne took top spot from Robyn Melvin who scored 82 points. It was a first time visit to the course for Joanne. Congratulations!

In other exciting news, Sheryl Van Wyk from Wanneroo won a gold nugget after posting a hole-in-one on hole #4. It has taken several years for a competitor to win the nugget. Congratulations Sheryl.

2020 11 news palliative care

The Goldfields Ladies Open Committee are excited to announce that $5000 was raised for the Palliative Care Unit at Kalgoorlie Regional Hospital.

Graeme Wilmot (Chairperson of the GGC) presented a cheque to Gayle Paterson - Clinical Nurse Manager (Palliative Care) on Sunday, 8th of November at the Goldfields Ladies Open presentations. All funds raised from raffles and fines were put towards the tally.

A huge thank you to Scott Milling for the use of his pink cadillac throughout the tournament. Participants were able to buy tickets for a chance to take a ride in his beautiful car. Thank you also to Kirsty Dellar from Salty’s for her generous raffle donation and also to all of the GGC ladies who donated hampers.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

2020 09 news charity dayOur annual Goldfields Golf Club Charity Golf Day was held on Sunday, 30th August in beautiful conditions. This year's event was held to support Hope Community Services and the Little Pantry. Our members raised a healthy $3000 and also filled 10 bags worth of groceries. Over the past 6 years the GGC has raised over $34,000 for local worthwhile charities.

A huge thank you to the Kalgoorlie Golf Course for donating the prizes, Lyndon Jones for the auction items and Graham Green for the use of his PA system. Members, played 18 holes of Stableford off the white and yellow tees.

The winners on the day were:

  • 1st - Ken Harman (41 points)
  • 2nd - Krystle Fitzpatrick (39 points)
  • 3rd - Justin Moffatt (38 points) c/b 4th - Jeremy Lonsdale (38 points)
  • 5th - Brad Salmon (36 points)

Board Member, Ross Turnbull presented the cheque to Taysharn from Hope Community Services. Thank you to our fantastic members for their generosity.
